Today's Revelations
- 1Proskuneo makes worship embodied surrender. The Greek word carries the image of bowing low or kissing toward; worship is not only admiration but yielded allegiance.
- 2Jesus moves worship beyond geography. The Samaritan woman asks about Gerizim or Jerusalem, but Jesus anchors true worship in God's nature rather than a sacred address.
- 3Spirit and truth turn posture into reality. A bowed body can lie, but worship in spirit and truth means the inner person honestly matches the outward homage.
- 4The must comes from who God is. Because God is Spirit, worship must correspond to Him: not mere place, mood, or performance, but life aligned with reality.
- 5Daily worship bows the ego before God. Proskuneo asks whether our desires, decisions, and habits are prostrate before God's character when no song is playing.
The Bottom Line
"Proskuneo means worship is not a place, style, or performance - it is the whole self bowing in spirit and truth before the God who is Spirit."
